Solution
The Maid of Orleans
Joan, a simple country girl of about 17 to 18 years of age, was determined to free France from the English and the Burgundians. She instils courage in the frightened French soldiers. She believes that with God’s help, she can lead the soldiers to drive their enemies out of France. She meets Captain Squire with the help of Monsieur Poulengey, so as to seek permission from him to meet the Dauphin. Her confidence, courage and determination, along with Poulengey’s effective persuasion skills, finally make Captain Squire relent and permit Joan to meet the Dauphin.
