(x2 − x + 1) + (− 5x2 + 2x − 2) + (3x2 − 3x + 1)
= x2 − x + 1 − 5x2 + 2x − 2 + 3x2 − 3x + 1
= x2 + 3x2 − 5x2 + 2x − x − 3x + 1 + 1 − 2
= 4x2 − 5x2 + 2x − 4x + 2 − 2
= − x2 − 2x
