Solution

The equation of line joining the two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is

`(y - y_1)/(y_2 - y_1) = (x - 1)/(– 2 – 1)`

Given (x1, y1) = (1, 1), (x2, y2) = (– 2, 3)

∴ The equation of the required line is

`(y - 1)/(3 - 1) = (x - 1)/(- 2 - 1)`

`(y - 1)/2 = (x - 1)/( - 3)`

– 3(y – 1) = 2(x – 1)

– 3y + 3 = 2x – 2

2x + 3y – 2 – 3 = 0

2x + 3y – 5 = 0
