Given: Point (–8, –6).
Using the distance formula from the origin
`d = sqrt((x - 0)^2 + (y - 0)^2`
`d = sqrt((-8 - 0)^2 + (-6 - 0)^2`
= `sqrt[(-8)^2 + (-6)^2`
= `sqrt(64 + 36)`
= `sqrt(100)`
= 10
The distance of (–8, –6) from the origin is 10 units.
