Given: Point: (5, 12)

Step-wise calculation:

1. Distance from origin (0, 0):

`d = sqrt((x - 0)^2 + (y - 0)^2` 

= `sqrt(x^2 + y^2)`

2. Substitute x = 5, y = 12:

`d = sqrt(5^2 + 12^2)` 

= `sqrt(25 + 144)`

= `sqrt(169)`

= 13

The distance of (5, 12) from the origin is 13 units.
