Solution

Given: Point (3, –4)

Step-wise calculation:

1. Distance from origin formula:

`d = sqrt(x^2 + y^2)`

2. Substitute the coordinates:

`d = sqrt(3^2 + (-4)^2`

= `sqrt(9 + 16)`

= `sqrt(25)`

= 5

The distance of (3, –4) from the origin is 5 units.
