A(3, –4) and B(7, 0)

Given: A(3, –4) and B(7, 0)

Use the distance formula

`d = sqrt((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2`

x2 – x1 = 7 – 3

= 4

y2 – y1 = 0 – (–4)

= 4

`d = sqrt(4^2 + 4^2)`

= `sqrt(16 + 16)`

= `sqrt(32)`

= `4sqrt(2)`

The distance AB = `4sqrt(2)` units.
