Solution
A monsoon is a seasonal change in the direction of the prevailing winds of a region. The summer and winter monsoon determine the climate for most of India and Southeast Asia. The summer monsoon is associated with heavy rainfall between April and September. It brings humid climate and torrential rainfall to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar after blowing from the southwest Indian Ocean. Agriculture in these countries relies on these seasonal rains. Too little of it causing drought and too much of it causing floods and the resultant loss of life and property. Winter monsoon that starts in the air above Mongolia and northwestern China is less powerful than its summer equivalent. As these winds change direction with the change of seasons; the rains they bring along are called seasonal rains.
