Solution

  1. With the help of science and technology, it is now easy to predict the weather.
  2. The weather forecast is a helpful to manage effective disaster during the natural disasters of floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.
  3. For example, in 2014, the Meteorological Department predicted the 'hood hood' storm on the shores of Andhra and Odisha.
    1. To prevent the adverse effects of the storm, the National Disaster Management implemented 35 teams of security guards in Andhra and Odisha. On October 12, when the storm actually hit the place, 38 trains along the east coast were cancelled.
    2. The schools in the region were closed, and the storm in Andaman affected the transport service. The fishermen were prioritized and some trees swallowed on the ground due to the high temperature of the storm, causing the main roads to be closed.
    3. Where the fieldwork could not be completed, 9 out of 13 districts had announced a warning about the storm. Out of a total of 7 million people, 5 lakh people from Andhra Pradesh were relocated to a safe place and sent to the Relief Camp, the most massive bunkers were kept in the bunkers.
    4. The Odisha government issued a 'high alert' in 16 districts.
  4. From this example, it is clear that according to weather forecasting, we can take appropriate precautions for disaster management and be prepared to face disaster. This, in turn, helps reduce the severity of the damage and can get rid of the disaster.
