Solution

Using the identity

(a − b)3 = a3 − 3ab(a − b) − b3

Here, let a = 3, b = 4ab

(3 − 4ab)3 = (3)3 − 3(3) (4ab)(3 − 4ab) − (4ab)3

= 27 − 9(4ab)(3 − 4ab) − 64a3b3

= 27 − 36ab(3 − 4ab) − 64a3b3

∴ (3 − 4ab)3 = 27 − 108ab − 144a2b2 − 64a3b3
