Evaluate:
`0.6/0.3 + 0.16/0.4`
Advertisements
Solution
Given, `0.6/0.3 + 0.16/0.4`
∵ `0.6 = 6/10` and `0.3 = 3/10, 0.16 = 16/100` and `0.4 = 4/10`
∴ `0.6/0.3 + 0.16/0.4 = (6/10)/(3/10) + (16/100)/(4/10)`
= `(6/10 xx 10/3) + (16/100 xx 10/4)` ...[∵ Division is reverse of the multiplication]
= `60/30 + 160/400`
= `6/3 + 16/40`
= `2/1 + 4/10` ...[∵ LCM of 1 and 10 = 10]
= `(20 + 4)/10`
= `24/10`
= `12/5`
= 2.4
