Solution
Sandeep filled water = `4/7`
Ramakant filled water = `1/4`
Water used by Umesh = `3/14`
Capacity of water tank = 560 litres.
Water left in the tank = [Water filled by Sandeep + Water filled by Ramakant] - Water used by Umesh
= `[4/7 + 1/4] - 3/14`
= `[(4 xx 4)/(7 xx 4) + (1 xx 7)/(4 xx 7)] - 3/14`
= `[16/28 + 7/28] - 3/14`
= `[(16 + 7)/28] - 3/14`
= `23/28 - 3/14`
= `23/28 - (3 xx2)/(14 xx 2)`
= `23/28 - 6/28`
= `(23 - 6)/28`
Water left in the tank = `17/28`
∴ Remaining water = `17/28 xx 560`
∴ Remaining water = 340 litres.
∴ The tank will be left with 340 litres of water.
