Solution

Steps of construction:

  1. Draw a line segment BC = 5 cm.
  2. With B and C as centres and radii 7 cm and 6 cm draw two arcs, which intersects at A.
  3. Join BA and CA to obtain ΔABC.
  4. Below BC, make an acute angle CBX.
  5. Mark B1, B2, B3, B4 on BX such that BB1 = B1B2 = B2B3 = B3B4·
  6. Join B4 to C.
  7. Draw a line segment B3C || B4C to meet BC at C.
  8. Draw line segment C'A' || CA to meet AB at A'. Hence, A'BC' is the required triangle.
