Solution
Resistances of 2 Ω and 6 Ω are connected in parallel between points B and C.
Let Rp be their equivalent resistance.
\[ \frac{1}{R_{p}}=\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{4}{6}=\frac{2}{3} \text { or } R_{p}=\frac{3}{2}=1.5 \Omega\]
Now, equivalent resistance Rp is in series with 10 Ω resistance. Therefore, the equivalent resistance of the circuit (Rs) is :
\[ \text{R}_{\text{s}}=10+1.5={1 1 . 5} \Omega \]
