Grapevine is an informal channel of communication that should be used judiciously to supplement the official channels. It is utilized when the official channels are slow and insufficient. It is built around interpersonal relations between people working in an organization. It spreads throughout the organization with its branches going out in all directions irrespective of levels of authority.
