Solution

Herzberg’s theory of motivation seeks to get to the heart of workplace motivation. A corporation can use this notion to get the best out of its personnel.

Two factors under Herzberg’s theory of motivation are motivators and hygiene factors.

Motivating factors include:

  1. Achievement: A job should give you a sense of accomplishment. It will make an employee feel proud for completing a challenging but worthwhile task.
    1. Recognition: Employees should be commended and recognized for their efforts.
    2. The Type of Work: The job must be engaging, diversified, and challenging enough to keep personnel motivated.
    3. Responsibility: Employees should have a sense of ownership over their work. Employees should take responsibility for completing their jobs.
    4. Advancement: Adequate promotion opportunities should be available for the employees.
    5. Growth: An employee should have the opportunity to develop new skills. This might occur during formal training or while on the job.
  2. Hygiene Factors: These are the employment factors required for motivation in the workplace. These variables do not lead to long-term satisfaction; in their absence, they lead to unhappiness.
    1. Company Policies: These should be consistent and fair for every employee.
    2. Supervision: Every employee must receive fair supervision. Employees should be given a reasonable degree of autonomy to implement their own ideas.
    3. Relationships: Harassment and bullying should not be tolerated. Superiors and subordinates should have a healthy and suitable connection.
    4. Working Conditions: The working environment should be safe and hygienic.
    5. Salary: The wage structure should be reasonable and suitable. Compared with other organisations in the same industry, it should be at a similar level.
    6. Status: The organisation should work toward maintaining the status of all employees.
    7. Security: Employees must not believe that their jobs are in jeopardy. They should not be constantly threatened with layoffs.
