- Ambient temperature and the distance between the source and the reflecting surface are important factors in the generation of echoes. A distance of at least 17.2 m between the source and the reflecting surface is required for a clear echo to be heard at 22°C.
- The classroom must be designed in such a way that the distance between two walls is less than 17.2 meters to avoid the formation of echoes.
- Also, the ceiling should be curved so that the reflection of sound waves is uniform throughout the room.
- Classrooms are generally rectangular in design to avoid echo generation.
