Solution

The two sayings are not contradictory. History teaches us about the consequences of human choices, the effects of injustice and conflict, and the value of cooperation and wise leadership. These lessons can help us make better decisions. At the same time, history never repeats itself exactly: each period has its own people, circumstances and challenges. We should not expect an earlier event to occur in precisely the same way or assume that the past gives us a complete solution. Instead, we should recognise familiar patterns and apply historical understanding thoughtfully to present situations. The message is to learn from the past while responding intelligently to the unique demands of our own time.
