Solution
Amniocentesis is a technique in which a part of the amniotic fluid is taken out from the mother’s womb with a syringe. This fluid contains the cells of the fetus, by analyzing the chromosomes of which the sex of the foetus, genetic structure, genetic disorders and metabolic disorders can be detected. Therefore, the primary purpose of this testing process is to detect any possible disability or disorder in the child to be born so that the mother can get a basis for abortion. But nowadays, this technique is being misused to determine the sex of the foetus and to kill the female foetus. As a result, the sex ratio of our country is becoming unbalanced. Even if the female foetus is normal, abortion is done because in our society, the birth of a son is still given priority. Such an abortion is equivalent to the murder of a child, so it is very important to put a legal ban on amniocentesis.
