Solution

Given: Work (W) = 1000 J

Displacement (s) = 20 m

Time (t) = 4 s

(a) Work = Force × Displacement

1000 J = Force × 20 m

∴ Force = \[\frac{1000}{20}\]

= 50 N

(b) \[ \text{Power} = \frac{\text{Work}}{\text{Time}} \]

= \[\frac{1000\ \mathrm{J}}{4\ \mathrm{s}} \]

= 250 W
