Solution

Given: Work (W) = 4000 J

Distance (s) = 10 m

Mass (m) = 20 kg

Using W = F × s

F = `W/s`

= `4000/10`

= 400 N

Using Newton’s second law,

F = ma

a = `F/m`

= `400/20`

= 20 m/s2

Therefore, the required force is 400 N and the acceleration is 20 m/s2.
