Solution

Given: A rectangular tank with base 7 m × 6 m and water depth 5 m.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Area of base

= Length × Breadth

= 7 × 6

= 42 m2

2. Volume

= (Area of base) × Depth

= 42 × 5

= 210 m3

The tank contains 210 cubic metres of water.
