A rectangle with length = 18 cm and breadth = 12 cm has same perimeter as that of a regular pentagon. Find the side of the pentagon.

Solution
Length of rectangle = 18 cm
Breadth of rectangle = 12 cm
∴ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 x (l + b)
= 2 x (18+12)
= 2 x 30 = 60 cm
∵ Perimeter, of rectangle = Perimeter of pentagon
60 cm = 5 x side
side = `60/5` cm = 12 cm
∴ Side of the pentagon = 12 cm
