Why is the series arrangement not used for domestic circuits?

उत्तर

Series connections are not used in domestic electrical circuits due to the following reasons:

  1. It cannot be used with different devices (devices) with different switches on and off. If one equipment fails, the other also stops working.
  2. In series connection, the same current flows through all the devices, which we do not need.
  3. Due to high total resistance of the circuit (R = R1 + R2 + ...), the value of current becomes extremely low.

Find the expression for resistors connected in series.

Two resistors of 4Ω and 6 Ω are connected in parallel to a cell to draw 0.5 A current from the cell.

(ii) Calculate the current in each resistor. What is an Ohmic resistor?

(i) Two sets A and B, of three bulbs each, are glowing in two separate rooms. When one of the bulbs in set A is fused, the other two bulbs also cease to glow. But in set B, when one bulb fuses, the other two bulbs continue to glow. Explain why this phenomenon occurs.

(ii) Why do we prefer arrangements of Set B for house circuiting?
