उत्तर

Potassium permanganate can be made by the following methods:

In the laboratory, salts of the manganese (II) ion are oxidized by oxydisulfate to form permanganates.

\[\ce{MnO^-_4 + 8H+ + 5e- -> Mn^{2+} + 4H2O] \times 2}\]

\[\begin{array}{cc}
\ce{COO-}\phantom{.....................}\\
5| \ce{-> 10CO2 + 10e-}\\
\ce{COO-}\phantom{.....................}\\
\end{array}\]
______________________________________________________
\[\ce{2MnO^-_4 + 16H+ + 5C2O^{2-}_4 -> 2Mn^{2+} + 10CO2 + 8H2O}\]
