(a, b) ∈ R and (b, c) ∈ R ⇒ (a, c) ∈ R

∵ 16 = 42 and 4 = 22

Here,
(16, 2) ∉ R

(a, b) ∈ R and (b, c) ∈ R but (a, c) ∉ R.
