Dear Grandmother,

Thank you for reading this letter. I hope this finds you well. Though I’d love to thank you in person for showing me how to knit a sweater, I think this letter will have to do for now because I'm incredibly busy.

You were right, grandmother. Giving Papa a sweater that you knitted was a much more thoughtful and useful gift than getting him something from the store. He was very proud to wear it to the wedding of his friend’s daughter last week. I have to say that I second-thought my decision to learn such a hard skill over the holidays instead of taking it easy. But thank goodness it paid off! Seeing this made me want to knit more and give something to everyone I care about.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to you. I will make up for my absence next month when I wrap up with my exams. I shall come over for a whole month and we can knit together.
