THC, or δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychotropic component of cannabis. It affects mood, memory, motor coordination, cognitive function, sensory perception, temporal perception, and self-perception. Higher dosages of marijuana cause paranoid moods, delusions, and hallucinations.
