Solution
Zinc reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid to give zinc chloride and hydrogen gas (but the reaction is less rapid than that of aluminium).
\[\ce{\underset{Zinc}{Zn_{(s)}} + \underset{Hydrochloric acid}{2HCl_{(aq)}} -> \underset{Zinc chloride}{ZnCl2_{(aq)}} + \underset{Hydrogen}{H2_{(g)}}}\]
