Let the required angle measures x°
It is given that two angles measuring x° and 2y°are supplementary. Therefore, their sum must be equal to 180°.
Or, we can say that:
x + 2y = 180
x = 180 - 2y
Hence, the required angle measures (180 - 2y)°.
