Solution
The Narmada River originates from Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh and flows westward for about 1,300 km, finally draining into the Arabian Sea near Broach (Bharuch). The river’s drainage basin mainly lies in Madhya Pradesh, with only about one-tenth of it falling within Gujarat. A notable feature of the Narmada is its picturesque gorge carved through the marble rocks near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, the Narmada basin has few tributaries, making the drainage system relatively simple.
