Solution
Attitudes and beliefs are long-term mental structures that develop from motivation, perception, and learning. They maintain personality consistency and contribute to the meaning of a person’s experiences and actions. Both aid individuals in achieving their objectives, but they are not the same.
A belief is a solid mental framework consisting of what a person believes or understands about a specific area of their reality. It includes ideas, attitudes, knowledge, and faith. All attitudes include some type of belief, yet not all beliefs result in an attitude.
The key difference is motivation. Beliefs are typically motivationally neutral. However, when beliefs merge into an attitude, they become more dynamic and emotionally charged. While a belief alone may not motivate someone to act, attitudes, which combine beliefs with emotional power, frequently result in action and goal-directed behaviour.
