Solution

  1. It is believed that dividing the country into two parts was the only realistic way to stop widespread violence between different groups and a civil war.
  2. The Muslim League was adamant about wanting Pakistan and wouldn’t help make India one country.
  3. The leaders of Congress were afraid that any further delays would lead to more violence and chaos.
  4. They agreed to the Plan because it promised a peaceful handover of power and gave India its freedom by 15th August, 1947.
  5. The Congress thought that partition was essential to achieve freedom and keep the country stable, even though it was painful.
