Question
Why is it asked to segregate wet and dry waste in each home?

Solution
The organic waste decomposes autonomously because the majority of its components are biodegradable. This trash can be transformed into fertiliser through composting. Dry garbage can be collected by the bhangarwala or the kabadiwala. This debris is suitable for reuse or recycling. Consequently, the segregation of dry and wet waste significantly facilitates the solid waste management process.
Conversely, if all materials are discarded indiscriminately, it contributes to the overall volume of solid waste. This becomes untenable. Consequently, to mitigate the challenges of solid waste management, dry and wet waste must be segregated at each point source. This could also generate wealth from garbage.
