Solution

Gaius Julius Caesar was a famous Roman general, politician and statesman, born in 100 B.C. He became one of Rome’s most successful military commanders and greatly expanded Roman territory, especially through his conquest of Gaul.

He later became dictator of Rome and introduced several reforms, including changes connected with the Julian calendar. His increasing power worried many Roman senators, who feared the loss of the Republic.

On 15 March 44 B.C., the Ides of March, Caesar was assassinated by a group of senators that included Brutus and Cassius. His death led to further civil wars and eventually contributed to the end of the Roman Republic.

Thus, the real Julius Caesar was not only a powerful military leader but also an important political figure whose life and death changed Roman history.
