Solution

(i) 100 g of N= `100/28`moles

Number of molecules = `100/28 xx 6.022 xx 10^23` molecules

Number of atoms = `(2 xx 100)/28 xx 6.022 xx 10^23` atoms

= 43.01 × 1023 atoms

(ii) 100 g of NH3 = `100/17` moles

Number of molecules = `100/17 xx 6.022 xx 10^23` molecules

Number of atoms = `100/17 xx 6.022 xx 10^23 xx 4` atoms

= 141.69 × 1023 atoms

Hence, NH3 would have more atoms
