The pituitary gland secretes two important hormones, FSH and LH, to control the human reproductive system. In males, LH is also called ICSH because it performs a different function. Additionally, the functions of the reproductive system are regulated by sex hormones: testosterone secreted by the testes in males, and estrogen and progesterone secreted by the ovaries in females.
