- The first sound LUBB, is produced when the atrioventricular valves, i.e. tricuspid and bicuspid, valves close at the start of ventricular systole.
- The second sound, DUBB, is produced at the beginning of ventricular diastole when the pulmonary and aortic semilunar valves close.
