Babur’s impression is that he had mixed feelings about India. He missed the climate and culture of Central Asia and found India to be a “country of few charms”. At the same time, he was impressed by India’s great wealth, large quantities of gold and silver, fertile land, and skilled artisans. His observations show both his homesickness and his appreciation of India’s richness and opportunities.
