Management is the process of getting work done with the aim of achieving the organisational objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
The following are the key functions of top level management.
i. To make efforts to coordinate the different functions of management.
ii. To participate in the planning process and formulates the organisational objectives.
iii. To analyse the various external forces that affect the functioning of the organisation and tries to bring in changes in the organisation.
iv. To work towards overall welfare of the organisation.
The following are the functions of the Lower Level Management:
i. To perform the production, sales or other work as assigned to them by the top managers.
ii. To follow the plans formulated by the top level managers.
iii. To analyse the various ways a work can be done effectively and to work in harmony in the organisation.
iv. To work towards achieving the organisational goals instead of personal goals.
