Solution
The layer of aluminium oxide on the surface of aluminium objects can be made thicker by electrolysis (to give them even more protection from corrosion). This process is called anodising. It is done to form a thick layer of aluminium oxide on an aluminium object by making it the anode during the electrolysis of dilute sulphuric acid. The aluminium objects like pressure cookers, cooking utensils, saucepans, and window frames, etc., are anodised to protect them from corrosion
