Solution
Aluminium is a highly reactive metal. It reacts readily with oxygen in the air, forming a layer of aluminium oxide on its surface. This layer is very tough and prevents air from entering the metal to further react. This prevents aluminium from further corrosion. Thus, aluminium articles become resistant to air and water and do not corrode easily due to the presence of a strong aluminium oxide layer. Hence, aluminium is highly resistant to corrosion.
