Solution

  1. Cytotoxic T-cells: These cells directly destroy antigen-containing cells by releasing lysosomal proteins. This cytotoxic action is especially important for eliminating virus-infected cells, which are otherwise difficult to access within host cells.
  2. Helper T-cells: These play an indirect but crucial role by stimulating the production of antibodies by B-lymphocytes. Helper T-cells initiate most immune responses and produce regulatory factors and lymphokines that enhance the phagocytic effectiveness of macrophages. They are essential for initiating and regulating the immune response.
  3. Suppressor T-cells: These inhibit the activity of certain immunologically activated cells, helping to maintain immunological tolerance toward some antigens and preventing overactive immune responses.
