Two dice are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting the sum of two numbers more than 9.

Total Outcomes 62 = 36.

The sum of two numbers greater than 9

Possible Outcome ⇒

(4,6) (5,5) (5,6)

(6,4) (6,5) (6,6)

= 6

∴ P(E2) ⇒ `6/36`

= `1/6`

The total number of all possible outcomes = 62 = 36

The sum of two numbers more than 9

= {(4, 6), (5, 5), (5, 6), (6, 4), (6, 5), (6, 6)}

Number of favourable outcomes = 6

∴ P(getting sum of two numbers more than 9)

= `6/36`

= `1/6`
