Solution

Let radius of circles be ๐‘Ÿ1๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘Ÿ2

Given sum of radius = 140cm

๐‘Ÿ1 + ๐‘Ÿ2 = 140 …..(i)

difference in circumferences = 88 ๐‘๐‘š

2 × ๐‘Ÿ1 − 2๐œ‹๐‘Ÿ2 = 88

`2 × 22/7 (r_1 − r_2) 88`

`r_1-r_2 = (88xx7)/(2xx22) = 14`

`r_1 = r_2 +14`….(ii)

(๐‘–๐‘–)๐‘–๐‘› (๐‘–) ⇒ `r_1 + r_2 +14 =140`

⇒ 2๐‘Ÿ2 = 126

⇒ ๐‘Ÿ2 = `126/2` = 63๐‘๐‘š๐‘

๐‘Ÿ2 = 63๐‘๐‘š๐‘  ๐‘–๐‘› (๐‘–๐‘–) ๐‘Ÿ1 = 63 + 14 = 77 ๐‘๐‘š๐‘

Diameter of circle (i) = 2๐‘Ÿ1 = 2 × 77 = 154 ๐‘๐‘š๐‘

Diameter of circle (ii) = 2๐‘Ÿ2 = 2 × 63 = 126 ๐‘๐‘š๐‘
