The rate of planting the grass is ₹ x per square metre. Find the cost of planting the grass on a triangular lawn whose base is y metres and height is z metres.

Solution

Given, base of triangular lawn is y metres and height z metres
∴ Area of triangular lawn = `1/2 xx y xx z = 1/2 yz m^2` ...`[∵ "Area of triangle" = 1/2 xx "height" xx "base"]`
∴ Cost of planting the grass on lawn = `1/2`yz × x = ₹ `1/2`xyz.
