Solution

Given: The mean of 6 observations is 25 and the mean of the other 4 observations is 20.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Sum of first 6 observations

= 6 × 25

= 150

2. Sum of other 4 observations

= 4 × 20

= 80

3. Total sum

= 150 + 80

= 230

4. Total number of observations

= 6 + 4

= 10

5. Mean of all observations

= `"Total sum"/"Total number"`

= `230/10`

= 23

The mean of all 10 observations is 23.
