Solution

The lengths of the sides of a triangular field are 20 m, 21 m and 29 m. The cost of cultivating the field at ₹ 9 per m2 is ₹ 1890.

Explanation:

`s = 1/2 (20 + 21 + 29) m = 35  m`, (s – a) = 15 m, (s – b) = 14 m and (s – c) = 6 m.

∴ Area = `sqrt(35 xx 15 xx 14 xx 6)  m^2`

= (7 × 5 × 3 × 2) m2

= 210 m2

Required cost = ₹ (210 × 9)

= ₹ 1890
