Solution

Given:

Side of cube = 7 cm

Largest sphere carved out of the cube ⇒ diameter of sphere = side of cube

d = 7 cm

r = `7/2`

= 3.5 cm

To Find:

Volume of the sphere.

`V = 4/3πr^3`

Substitute r = 3.5 cm and take π = `22/7`.

V = `4/3 xx 22/7 xx (3.5)^3`

(3.5)3 = 3.5 × 3.5 × 3.5

= 42.875

V = `4/3 xx 22/7 xx 42.875`

V = `4/3 xx 134.75`

`V = 539/3`

= 179.67 cm3
