Matilda misplaced Mrs. Forestier’s necklace at the ball while she was dancing. After taking out loans of 18,000 francs, Matilda and her husband had to return the necklace. The jewel box was given to Mrs. Forestier, but she did not open it. Matilda and her husband had a terrible life after that. This event led Matilda to make major changes in how she lived her life. The maid was sent away, and she took over all the housework when she moved into a rented house. She had a terrible, poor, and low life for ten years. Matilda wanted to show off, and one careless or mistaken action ruined their whole fun-filled life. Because they borrowed money to buy a necklace, they were poor for ten years.

Determiners include articles (a, an, the), possessive pronouns (my, our, your, her, etc.), demonstratives (words like this, that), quantifiers (much, many, etc.), numerals, etc.
